Before you start

Deleting an account cannot be undone: a deleted account cannot be restored, by you or by us.

If you are the only administrator of an organization that has other members, the deletion is refused and the organization is named, so the team is not left without anyone who can manage it. Write to support@code4.space and tell us which member should become an administrator; once that is done, you can delete your account.

If you are the only member of an organization, nothing blocks the deletion. The organization and its content stay, as described below.

If you cannot sign in

Write to support@code4.space from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. If you no longer have access to that address, tell us how we can verify that the account is yours.

We check that the request comes from the owner of the account, delete the account in the same way as the steps above, and confirm it to you. We answer within 30 days.

What is deleted

Your profile: your name, username, photo, the About text, birthday, gender and online status.

Your contact details: email addresses, phone numbers and messenger handles, and the git commit signatures that linked commits to you.

Your sign-in: your account on our sign-in service is deleted, so you can no longer sign in. Personal access tokens, push notification registrations on your browsers and phones, and computers paired with the Code4 agent are removed, and your open connections to the service are closed.

Your memberships: you leave every organization, project and group chat. Access to boards, documents and folders given to you personally is removed, and you stop following issues, documents, code reviews and calls.

Your personal space: favorites, saved filters, dashboard layouts, your to-do list, your conversations with the assistant and the files attached to them, and the record of which files you viewed in code reviews.

What is kept

Work you did with your team stays with the organization it belongs to: issues, comments, messages in team conversations, code reviews, documents and their edits, logged time, call recordings and transcripts, and pipeline runs. Other people see it signed "Deleted user", without your name, photo or contact details. The content itself is not rewritten, so anything you typed into it stays as written.

Direct messages stay readable for the other person in the conversation, with "Deleted user" in place of your name.

An internal record with the same identifier stays, named "Deleted user" and marked as deleted, so that the history of your team keeps its links. It holds none of the data listed above.

Deleting your account does not delete your organization or its workspace. The workspace belongs to the organization and is kept while the organization has an active subscription; after the subscription ends, the organization has 30 days to ask for an export, and then we delete the data from the service. To have content you wrote removed sooner, ask an administrator of your organization, or write to us and we pass the request to your organization and help it respond.

How long data is kept

The data listed under What is deleted is erased from the service at the moment you confirm the deletion.

Usage and log data are kept for up to 90 days, unless we need them longer to investigate a security incident.

Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.

Emails you sent us are kept for as long as they are needed to answer you and to keep a record of the request.

The Privacy Policy describes all the data we collect and your rights in full.
